{ My Valentine . . .}

Logan and I opted out of giving Valentine's gifts to each other this year, seeing as we just redecorated 2 rooms and are getting ready for the baby to come. (pictures of the nursery coming soon) But is wasn't for a lack of love and appreciation for one another.

I just wanted to jot down a few things that impress me so much about my husband. Reasons why after almost 8 years of marriage, he is still my favorite person in the whole world.

Logan has more motivation and dedication to succeed than anyone I've ever known. He works so hard. And when he is crazy busy with work, working on the weekends, and losing sleep, I know that every second he spends away from us is in fact for us. He feels such an overwhelming responsibility to provide well for his family. It is such a blessing to have a husband that is willing to work that hard to support the people he loves. And we feel his love. When the kids are sad because they have to go to bed before he gets home, we always try to remember that the reason he is gone is because he loves us so much. I'm grateful for a hard working husband.

Logan has 2 switches: work . . . and play! If he's not working, he's playing. And the kids know it! They know he has a weakness for games and fun, so they will try to enlist him in any activity that they can. I think as a mom, I am trying so hard to get things done in the day that I try to teach my kids to entertain themselves. But with dad, they know that he would rather play with them then get things done. Whether its building forts, dancing, playing Lego Star wars, chasing one child with the other on his shoulders, or any other game their little minds can come up with, they know that it will take minimal effort to get dad involved. He is an incredible father and I have no doubt in my mind that our children feel his love. In fact, they adore him.

Logan is a thinker. He is so great at looking at a situation and instead of jumping to the first, most obvious solution, he is willing to sit back and think about it. Not only is this good in family life, but it is an incredible gift to have in the world of business and it makes him of great value. He doesn't take the easy road, or do what is the fastest. He takes time to think about things, brainstorm. I used to find this annoying at first because I'm a quick fix girl. But over the years I've learned from his example that if you can be patient and step back for a second, you will almost always have a better outcome to any situation.

Logan proposed to me on Valentine's Day 8 years ago, and I can honestly say that saying yes to him that day is the best decision I have made in my life.
