And the award goes too. . .

There are a lot of desserts that taste good, but rarely ever are they beautiful enough to actually take your breath away and make you salivate at the same time. We are having a dessert night with the Hall family tonight and I decided to attempt the fruit pizza.

Seriously. . . have you ever seen anything more beautiful?
(food wise that is)

Easter Morning

{The glorious sight we woke up to Easter morning}

{The Easter Bunny even cleaned the house!}

I don't think there is anything more fun than waking up to your children filled with excitement and joy. They had so much fun looking through their baskets and gathering up the candy. The Easter bunny even hid some special treats for them to find.

{And he made bunny shaped pancakes. Yummy!}

And yes, this is the best picture we could get of them that morning. You can hardly see their outfits, but they are stinking cute just the same.

The 9th annual Easter Eggstravaganza

For the past 9 years our neighborhood has held an Easter egg hunt. . . in fact, we are the co-hosts. After we moved it we found out it was a responsibility that came with the house. Last years was a totally success so we were a little apprehensive this year, considering the crazy weather we've been having. We knew there was a good chance we'd be hunting for eggs in the snow. But things started to look up and we ended up with an absolutely beautiful day. The turnout was incredible too! We counted close to a hundred kids!

{the turnout}

Sophie was beside herself when she realized that she had the green light to go around eating whatever candy she could get her grimy little paws on.

{the finger up the nose is a new development}

Ayden had an absolute blast helping us set up. He walked around very carefully placing the eggs when the rest of us were just tossing them about.

He was a little overwhelmed with all the people (as usual) but once he had his Daddy there to help him he was just fine.

We have already begun planning for the big 10 year anniversary next year. You won't want to miss it!

Who'd a thunk

Ayden and I decided to start coloring some eggs last night while we waited for Daddy to get home. Who'd a thunk that this would be such an exciting event for the little man. He had a blast! I had fun too, once I got over the thought of spilling that die all over my floor.

He didn't stop talking about the eggs the rest of the night and it was the first thing he mentioned this morning. He's very concerned about them.

Needless to say, we are very excited about Easter in this house!

Sleeping like an angel

Ayden has been trying to move past the nap phase. He still gets pretty tired around 4:00 but if we can push through it he usually does okay until bed time.

But once his head hits the pillow. . . . that kid is down for the count!

This morning we were having a "lovin station" in bed and Ayden softly touched my face and said, "I love you, Mommy"

It doesn't get any sweeter than that.

TAgGeD! (again)

My sweet friend Texie B tagged me and since this is the first time she has done that, I'm going to oblige. So here it is:"

1.What were you doing 10 years ago?

10 years ago I was 17 and living it up as a junior in high school! (those were the days) (not really) I'm sure I was spending every minute of the day from sun rise to sun set- eating, sleeping, and breathing dance.

Five things on my "to-do" list today.

1. go to the gym (which I didn't, by the way)
2. finish the laundry
3. dust and vac
4. run some errands
5. plan for dinner

Six Snacks that I enjoy.

Thats hard because snacks are my favorite part of the day and I don't know how to narrow it down. I'll give it a shot.

1. obviously a delicious bev. (diet dr pepper is the bev of choice these days)
2. anything gummy (sour patch kids, gummy bears)
3. i love to enjoy a lovely bowl of ice cream with my sweetie at the end of the day.
4. cheese
5. apples dipped in peanut butter (I'm such a health nut) haha
6. banana bread

Three bad habits.

Only three?

1.letting my kids eat too many sweets.
2.losing my patience easily
3.leaving my salon a mess when I'm finished with an appointment

If I were suddenly a billionaire I would...

Try to help others and try to live the same way I do now minus financial burdens.

Five Places I've lived.

1. Carson City, Nevada.

2. Seoul, Korea.
3. Orem, Ut.
4. Cottonwood Heights, Ut.
5. Layton, Ut.

Five Jobs I've had.

2. Hostess at TGIFridays
3. Cashier at Robyn Todd
4. Dance teacher
5 Hair stylist

Five things people don't know about me

I'm pretty out there so there aren't many things people don't know about me, but I'll give it a shot.

1. I put my head phones on and jam when cleaning my house.
2. I enjoy cleaning dirty crockpots. (I enjoy the challenge)
3. It bothers me when people say "anyways" instead of "anyway"
4. I can't stand wearing my glasses which is why I wear my contacts 24/7
5. I've never watched an entire episode of Survivor.

So there you have it.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Ayden has been talking about St. Patrick's Day at school the last few weeks so we were really excited that today is the big day! We started out with some delicious green pancakes.

Then we put on our green outfits for a quick photo shoot and some ring around the rosies!

And of course there was some crazy stuff too. Sophie found some green goggles and decided to chase Ayden around the house in them. It's okay though. . . he put some underwear on his head and chased her back.

So from the Hammer home we'd like to wish you all a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The homeless girl

No matter how hard I try to get Sophie all dolled up, she prefers to look like an orphan. It's a good thing she's got that kind of face that melts your heart.

Sweet moment. . .

Theres just nothin better. . .
Than my cute boys building together.
