{ trick or treating . . . }

We have a tradition each Halloween of Logan taking the kids around while I stay back and give out the treats. With it so cold and raining this year we haven't had as many visitors. It also seems like a lot of people aren't home.

While walking around the kids came to a house with a bucket of candy on the porch with a sign saying "Please Take One". Ayden was surprised by this and asked "why did they leave that candy out?" Logan explained that they weren't home but still wanted to give out candy. To which Ayden replied, "Well, that's nice of them."

Then later as they were walking away he asked, "Dad, why don't other people do that?" Logan said he didn't know and Ayden said, "well, it's very creative." What a funny guy!

{Logan went to the ward Trunk or Treat as a BYU fan with a bag over his head. But I could tell he wouldn't be able to keep that BYU shirt on much longer!}

{They were out in the cold for over 2 hours!}

(More halloween and birthday posts to come. I promise.)

It was costume day at school for both Ayden and Sophie. So I figured, get pictures now so you don't have to worry about it later right?!

Well they were good sports about it and we got some fun pictures for Halloween!

{ 7 incredible months }

Baby girl is 7 months old today.
And still as wonderful as the day she was born.

It's amazing how quickly they develop. I think we comment at least once a day how big she is getting and how fast the time goes.

Myla LOVES to eat! She started eating baby food around 5 months and has become a pro! (way better than my other 2) She will eat anything you feed her (with the exception of green beans). She is to the stage where if you are eating or drinking anything in front of her, she stares at you and drools. And she's so sweet that you can't help but share. Some of her favorite "table food" items are: quesadillas, french toast, cinnamon rolls, string cheese, crackers, and any kind of cereal. She is pretty amazing at gumming things too, all of my children have been.

Myla has mastered rolling and sitting up. She can roll from one side of the room to the other in no time flat. She has even started pushing up onto all fours which means that crawling is right around the corner. I'm not surprised though, because she always wants to be in the middle of the action. She will hoot and holler if you leave her in a room alone.

We started signing with her at about 4 months. She has been signing "milk" for a while now, but she recently signed "more". We were all together eating dinner and she started slapping her hands together. She got a kick out of us all screaming and clapping. Since then she has done it a few more times, usually when someone is eating or drinking in front of her. She watches the Signing Time videos and I can tell when I sign to her she knows what I'm saying, she just lacks to fine motor skills to sign back.

Myla loves her Daddy. She has been lucky to have him working from home so she gets to spend more time with him then usual. She lights up when she sees him. They have a special bond and it is a joy to watch.

Here are some pictures of took of my baby girl on her 7 month birthday:

{I had to show off her buddha belly!}

{She loves grass}

{Check out that drool!}

Happy 7 months Myla! We love you!

Addition

My kids are big into addition right now. They are always throwing out addition problems to me in the car and they think I'm brilliant because I know that 90 plus 90 is 180. "How do you know that Mom? You're so smart!"

Well early this morning in our bed Logan was quizzing the Ayden:

Logan: "what's 50 plus 50?"
Ayden: "100?"
Logan: "that's right!! How about 20 plus 30?"
Ayden: "50?"
Logan: "Wow! Okay what's 40 plus 30?"
Ayden: "70?"
Mary: "Ayden!! How are you doing that?!!"
Ayden: "I DON'T KNOW"

5 years old! They haven't even started their math section at school yet! Most of the kids are still learning the numbers.

{Disneyland 2010!}

I'm so sad it's taken me this long to get this post done. We had an incredible trip!! Our kids are at the perfect age for a trip to the magic kingdom. Both Ayden and Sophie were tall enough for almost every ride and Myla is still young enough that full days in the stroller weren't too painful.

We left on Sunday night and drove to Mesquite. It was nice to break it up on the way down. When we got to the hotel the kids were so happy to see each other and I knew they wouldn't sleep well knowing we were going to be in California the next day!

We left the next morning we left bright and early! We got to the hotel in the early afternoon and spent the day getting ready for the next few days of FUN!

I believe Ayden woke up at 5am the next morning. He was so excited! We jumped on the earliest possible bus. The kids were all smiles!

{Arriving at the park that first morning. 2 very excited boys}

We spent the next three days in Disneyland heaven . . .
(I apologize for the picture fest)

Day 1

{Small world!}

Getting their faces painted!

{Pirates}

Day 2

{Building a light saber}

{Tower of TERROR}

{Andrew and Sophie on the bus home}

Day 3

{A bugs life}

With Characters:

On the last day of our vacation (and of course the coldest) we headed to the beach for some fun in the sun! (more like cudding in the wind)

It's a good thing that weather doesn't effect boys and kids!

{burying Ayden}

{Myla was obsessed with the sand}

{Boogie boarding!}

It was so great to spend time with our family. The kids really love their cousins and miss them when they are gone. We are so lucky to have such wonderful people to go through this life with. I feel very grateful.
