My baby boy

Almost three years ago I was blessed with the most wonderful gift you could ask for. . . a baby boy. He has brought me so much joy and happiness that I wanted to write down some of the great things about him.

Ayden was a perfect baby. I don't think he really cried until he was over a year old. He was always content. He hasn't been the easiest toddler, I must say, but he has always been a sweetheart. He is talking more and more each day, and we marvel at the things that come out of this little boy's mouth. Here is a list of some of my favorite Ayden saying: (I'll do my best to write them out so you could read it the way it sounds)

(when he's going to bed) "Mommy, you wan lay wit me?"
"Daddy's pillow is berry comperbal"
"I wan go to da maybers" (neighbors)
(a classic moment for all parents, when coming in our room one night) "Daddy, why you naked?"
"I'n not sleepy, I'n Ayden!!!"
(after doing something silly, or sometimes dumb) "Hey Mommy, dat's funny??" or "dat's cool??"

I'm sure there are tons more, but those are the ones that come to mind. Lately he has also started putting a "y" at the end of all kinds of words. For example his stool in his bedroom is now his stooly. He loves to ask for a kissy or a huggy. And my personal favorite is 10 times a day when he asks to go outsidey.

When we were on our family vacation in Lava I got to sleep with him and we had the most wonderful "lovin station" in the morning. A lovin station is something that I used to have with my Nanna before she passed away. When we would have sleepovers at her house we would cuddle in the morning, put our feet in the "oven" (between her knees) and she would tell us stories. This is a tradition that I want to carry on with my children and Ayden absolutely loves it. That morning in Lava I woke up to Ayden softly tickling my faces. I opened my eyes to see his sweet face looking right at me as he asked "Mommy, you awake?" We laid there together for about half an hour, snuggling, whispering, and kissing. It was awesome! Every mother's dream.

Ayden has always been good at entertaining himself. Some of the things he likes to do are:

Picking raspberries and strawberries from the garden
Dancing
Jumping on the Tramp
Playing anything and everything with his best friend Madi
Feeding his turtle "Cookie"
Hiding in mommy's closet with the lights off
Reading books
Watching movies or Disney channel
Anything with Daddy

His favorite things to eat are:

waffles, spagetti o's, pasta, yogurt, bananas, strawberries, cheese, chocolate milk, apple juice, butter and jelly sandwiches, and any kind of fruit snack. (surprise surprise)

This little guy has changed our lives and blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. He is a gift and I am so grateful that I have been given the honor of being his mother.

What a great celebration of Ayden. We miss him! We were watching old videos today and saw 6 month old Ayden in Disneyland and swinging with Papa Rich. What a cutie!!!

What wonderful stories of the stellar child Ayden! Thanks to Michelle you had just the perfect pictures to go along with everything you wrote about. I loved it all. I remember how Ayden just loved to be wrapped up like a little burrito for ever so long, it seemed. He is a sweet little boy.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and pictures. How neat it is that you are able to record such events so easily for the future. I'm sure we had such experiences with our family, but didn't make the effort to record them since we didn't have the technology of today.

The pictures plus your heartfelt thoughts about this little man made this such a beautiful and enjoyable thing to read. Especially since it's a little man that I know and love.
